Email (Gmail and Outlook)
Which email providers Norian supports and the read-only scope it works within.
Norian supports Gmail and Outlook (Microsoft 365). Access is read-only in both cases: we can see your messages, but we can't send, delete, or change anything in your mailbox.
Read-only, always
Whichever provider you connect, Norian reads incoming and outgoing email, extracts a one-line summary of any commitment, request, or decision, and discards the original message right after. Nothing else in your mailbox is touched, and nothing beyond that summary is kept.
Two ways to connect Outlook
Most accounts, Gmail and Outlook alike, connect through Norian's hosted connection provider. Some Outlook accounts connect through a direct Microsoft path instead. Both give Norian the same read-only access to your mailbox; the difference is which service handles the connection behind the scenes, not what Norian can see or do with it.

This page covers providers and scope. For the step-by-step walkthrough, including why you might see the sign-in screen twice during setup, see Connecting your inbox.
