Quiet by design
Norian only speaks up when something is genuinely at risk - here's the logic behind the alert threshold and the daily digest.
Norian's default state is silence. It only flags an open commitment or request once there's a reason to think it needs your attention.
An item gets flagged in one of two ways:
- It has been open past your alert threshold - 2 days by default, adjustable from 1 to 7 days in settings.
- It has a known due date, in which case we always flag it on the due day itself, regardless of the threshold.
Everything else stays quietly on your radar, tracked but not raised.
The daily digest follows the same logic. It only goes out when there's something at risk to report, Monday to Friday by default. Weekend digests are off unless you turn them on - most people don't want a Saturday email, so we don't send one unless asked.
In practice, this means most days are quiet. That's not a sign Norian isn't working - it's the point. A tool that alerts on everything trains you to ignore it. Norian only interrupts when it matters.
